Prescriptions

Repeat Medication requests need to be order at least 48 hours before they are due.  This does not include bank holidays or weekends.

We are now live with the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) so if you have nominated a local pharmacy, your prescriptions will be sent electronically directly to your nominated pharmacy once issued and authorised by the GP. This service makes obtaining your medication very easy if you find it difficult to come to the surgery to collect your prescription. If you have not yet nominated a pharmacy, you can still get a green prescription from the surgery, or just pop in to a pharmacy of your choice and ask to nominate them.

Patient Access You can order your repeat medication online. Bring 2 forms of ID to the Surgery and a Receptionist can register you to online patient access.

How to order:

  • Patient access – You can order your medication online, if you are not already set up for this, please speak to a care navigator who can set this up for you.
  • Put in a written request in the prescription box in the surgery
  • Via PATCHs medication request on our homepage at www. oakvalemedicalcentre.co.uk.
  • Post your request to us. If you are using this method, please ensure you leave enough time to ensure you do not run out of your medication as we are not responsible for delays with Royal Mail.

Prescriptions

If you are registered with Patient Access you can view and order your repeat prescriptions online. We would encourage patients to use the Patient Access service to request repeat medication as this enables your repeat request to be processed more quickly and efficiently.

Changes to repeat prescription ordering

We are making some changes to the way that repeat prescriptions are made, this is known as Direct Patient Ordering (DPO). See Link
